Day eight and 47 days.

What a great weekend! My weekends start on Fridays, since I have that day off. Lucky me. This last Friday was to be a rest day from swimbikerun. I even promised my coach that I would do no CrossFit. I had a test to do on Saturday and I needed to be rested up. Well, I did do a little muscle up practice.
I wasn't going anywhere my husband felt it was a good day to do the brakes on my beetle. He started at 7am and finally sat down in front of the tv 12 hours later. Bless his heart! Brakes got done and now I can go safely to swimrunbikecrossfit. Thank you babe! I know I don't tell you enough how I appreciate thing like this that you do. You were so sore the next day too! Your the one who got the workout.
Saturday I volunteered at the Love em' or Leave em' 5k at Greenlake. I get a free entry to the run. The people at Promotion Events are awesome!
I left the registration area and made it the start minutes before the gun went off. My toes were so cold from standing around. They finally thawed out at about mile 1! I had my Garmin on but I never look at it any more for races. I started to go by how I feel in the race last year and it seems to work. I finished at 23:29 by my watch. I forgot to look at my previous 5k time but I knew it was under 24 minutes. When I got to my car I looked it up. Summer of 2009 I did 23:30 at a 5k. I took till now to finally break that! Woohoo! The official time was 23:26. I'll take those four seconds! I earned them.
Next test is in a couple weeks for a 10k in La Connor at the Smelt Run. My best time for that distance is again in 2009 at 48:52. We'll see.
The picture to the left is of me at CrossFit All In. I had to do this. Next I'll try to do the handstand on a kettlebell.
Strong is the new skinny!

This is day eight for no alcohol! So far so good. I thought I would have more withdrawal symptoms, but I actually don't miss that beer or glass of wine when I get home. The first couple nights perhaps but just out of habit.

47 days till my next marathon. My running schedule has been going great! Thank you coach Mary! I like having a schedule and it seems to be working for me. Another 18 mile run this Saturday. I actually love these long runs. I missed running buddy this last weekend due to the Greenlake race but look forward to running with Sharon next week. I hope she had a good run.
