I had a good training week. Sore but no injuries.
Last weekend had some long days with a trail run and a bike(long)/run brick. It was a holiday weekend and I had Monday and Tuesday off from work. Yahoo! I filled it with training and loved it all. I had my first open water swim on Monday then a bike and a short run. Tuesday was 12 mile run with a great pace. Legs got a rest on Wednesday. Rest day!! Very important cause I had to do half marathon repeats on Friday cause I took Thursday off too! Listening to my body and it wanted two days off in a row. Before I ran though I had one of my better swims. My body just seems more fluid in the water and I'm breathing well with a rhythm most times. I had to go to work afterwards to finish up on charts. Yuck! Didn't want to start the week with lots of charts to do and get even more backed up. Near work at the park was a dog event going on. I took Ruby with me all day and we went to check out the Dock Dogs. Got an idea also for a belt to hook Ruby's leash too so I can run handsfree. She does better with it this way. It will be better for trails too. Just got to find a good price for one.
Anyway, Sunday I helped a runner friend who was the Race Director for Run Duval 5K/10K. I got an entry for volunteering. Yeah, and I love being on the other side of the registration table too. Nice different respective. Paige, the RD, did great and it was a fun event. Third in age group (40-49) and a four second PR! That's my fourth PR this year! Feeling good and eating good. Another Yahoo! Afterwards I had to do a 4 hour/50 mile bike ride. I did it on the pedestrian trail which is fairly flat. Six weeks to go till the half Ironman. For now on my rides will be on the race course and those hills. Next weekend, 60 miles. I actually have three days scheduled to rest. Hmmmmmm
Reach for your dreams. :)
